Sony Pictures has unveiled a fresh trailer for the upcoming film "Karate Kid: Legends," marking a significant revival of the cherished franchise. This new instalment bridges the narratives of the original 1984 movie, the "Cobra Kai" series, and the 2010 reboot, bringing together iconic characters and introducing new faces.
In "Karate Kid: Legends," Ralph Macchio reprises his role as Daniel LaRusso, and Jackie Chan returns as Mr. Han. The story unfolds three years after the events of the final "Cobra Kai" season, focusing on Li Fong, portrayed by Ben Wang. Li is a kung fu prodigy from Beijing who relocates to New York City following a family tragedy. As he struggles to adapt to his new environment and faces challenges with his peers, Li decides to enter a karate competition with the support of a newfound friend. Mr. Han mentors Li and enlists Daniel LaRusso's assistance, blending their distinct martial arts philosophies to prepare him for the upcoming tournament.
The latest trailer offers a deeper look into the film's dynamics, showcasing the mentorship and the fusion of martial arts styles. A poignant moment features Daniel advising Li, "Remember what you're fighting for. When you understand that, you will be ready," emphasising the film's thematic depth.
"Karate Kid: Legends" is slated for release on May 30, 2025. Fans can view the newly released trailer below:
